On Tuesday, May 20, Axel Schoenert traveled to Bordeaux to formalize a strong commitment: the signing of the sponsorship agreement between ESIKA, the agency’s endowment fund, and the Bordeaux University Foundation.
In partnership with the E2WP university chair (Eco Engineered Wood Products), this agreement supports research into the timber industry, with a particular focus on the development of urban micro-forests — true laboratories for biodiversity and ecological innovation.
Founded in 2023, ESIKA reflects the agency’s desire to structure its commitments around three pillars: sustainable development, applied research, and the transmission of knowledge.
This first agreement marks a decisive milestone in our approach to environmental and scientific philanthropy.
By offering its support, ESIKA joins a collective of committed sponsors — Essor, Gascogne, Tecsabois, and the South-Western Forest Owners Union — to actively contribute to concrete solutions addressing climate, urban, and energy challenges.
Through this collaboration with the academic world, we affirm our conviction: the challenges of tomorrow can only be met by combining expertise, experimenting in the field, and supporting high-impact projects.
Many thanks to the Bordeaux University Foundation for its trust, and to all the E2WP chair’s partners for their dedication: Charlyne Quercia, Inès Lamti, and Régis Pommier.
